THE CLARENCE

REDEVELOPMENT OF A PRIVATE RESIDENCE IN A PRESTIGIOUS SETTING DEDICATED TO OENOLOGY AND GASTRONOMY

This mansion was designed by architect Henri Parent in 1884 and purchased in 2015 by the Domaine Clarence Dillon, the owner of Haut-Brion grands crus, to use as its showcase in Paris: a luxurious and refined venue dedicated to gastronomy and French wine.

An initial diagnostic programme allowed us to highlight the building’s intrinsic qualities, such as the magnificent spaces and delicate, late-19th-century decorative work that a series of functional additions had concealed.

Restoration is a means of bringing out the qualities of ancient buildings, all while providing the opportunity for reinvestment, even reinvention.

Along with the restoration of these elements, an extensive redevelopment within the residence made it possible to create a shop with tasting cellars, a restaurant with a professional kitchen, reception rooms, and offices.

The main challenge posed by this kind of project is to install technical installations and equipment in such a way that the level of comfort and functionality demanded of such a luxurious setting is in no way compromised.
